Day Trip: Remembering Marshall Fields

For many Chicagoans, the holiday season was not complete without a visit to Marshall Fields, the city’s grand dame of department stores. Leslie Goddard will provide us with an illustrative presentation tracing the store’s beloved holiday traditions including, the Walnut Room tree, window displays and Christmas catalog. This matinee event takes place at the historic Jacob Henry Mansion Estate in Joliet and includes a self-guided tour and lunch consisting of a garden salad, warm rolls, your choice of chicken pot pie or traditional meat loaf, dessert and coffee or tea (cash bar available). Moderate walking is involved with this trip. Registration/cancellation deadline: October 15 (spaces permitting). Transportation provided via Park District van.
Registration for this program/event begins at 9:00am on 8/8 for residents and 8/14 for non-residents.
Trip Information
Pick-up/drop-off location is at the Park District Fitness and Recreation Center lobby unless otherwise noted. Listed trip times are approximate. A detailed itinerary will be emailed at least 48 hours before the trip. Return times may vary depending on traffic and/or weather conditions; we make every attempt to return by the designated time.
Refunds
Refunds are only given under the following conditions:
1: The trip is canceled by the Barrington Park District.
2: The person asking for a refund finds a replacement for the trip.
3: The Park District has a waiting list and is able to sell your ticket.
4: If we have not met our registration minimum by the deadline date.
No cancellations/refunds will be accepted after the Registration/cancellation deadline listed for each trip.
All payments are required in full at time of registration. Please notify the Park District in advance if any special ADA or dietary accommodations are needed for the trip.
